How to participate

As of Model Version 1.0, Wipro, Smigiel Consulting Group, Real Story Group (formerly CMS Watch), and Hartman Communicatie serve as Project Leaders for ECM3.  Project Leaders will initially approve all modifications to the core model.

Individuals are invited to apply join the ECM3 “Guiding Consortium,” presently organized by the Project Leaders.  To apply, click here (it is a google form and will open in another window).   Over time, the Project Leaders intend to hand off leadership of the Model to this Consortium.  To remain active, Consortium members must commit to regular discussions and contributions to the model, as well as participate in at least one in-person meeting per year.

I have been a regular visitor to PCM.blog. I have been involved with Open Source ECMs like Alfresco, Plone and Liferay. I would like to participate and contribute to ECM3.

    Thanks,
    Farida

I am R&D director of Russian ECM vendor, and ECM Maturity Models are in my area of interests (last year we developed and presented one, see

I think I could make a contribution in developing of ECM3. I.e. add some formal procedure of assessment and calculation.

    Thanks,
    Maxim.

    Love the document.

I couldn’t see any easy way to upload comments here, so I’ve put my comments in a horrible text file over here:
    http://jonontech.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/ecmmmfeedback20090403.txt

Also written a blog entry about our experiences here:

Let me know if you’d prefer another format or if any of my ramblings don’t make any sense.

I’d love to be able to help.

  7. This is a very exciting initiative and I particularly applaud the use of the Creative Commons licensing model. A group of us are involved in a Creative Commons initiative for standardized approaches to Information Management called MIKE2.0 at http://www.openmethodology.org. We are very interested in ways to connect our initiatives. MIKE2.0 would greatly benefit from linking to this content and I believe ECM3 would similarly benefit from a linkage back.

    Hi

is this model still kept alive?

  9. 9 alanps

    Hi Myra,
Yes it is albeit voluntarily – however it is now also part of Mike2.0 and there is probably more activity on it there. That said, despite having looked at it a couple of times in the recent past, we have not seen a major need to change it. More likely in future we see it being adopted/adapted for other purposes beyond ECM.

I am a consultant working for a fortune 200 firm. Are there any success stories out there about how people have used ECM3? How do I find out about them? Thanks so much.

Hi there, sorry for the delay in replying to you we don’t check here all that often. As this is a community open source project we have not really documented success stories. However, it is by a wide margin the most used ECM Maturity model globally (it is now also a available through MIKE2.0), and I know that many consultancies both large and small use it extensively.
